Embark is an idle brick breaker game, made in 48 hours for Ludum Dare 48. As you dig deeper, more powerful artifacts become available to you.

Your paddle (Reflector) will automatically move from side to side and hopefully hit the ball (Extractor). As the Extractor breaks Bricks, you will collect Dust. Dust is used to purchase new Artifacts that power up your Extractors and Reflectors.

Content has only been designed for 5 depths, but you can continue playing until the game crashes (it happens eventually, sorry).

New versions of the executable and WebGL build have been added to address game crashing issues, and an error with a string referring to Dust as Coins. No additional content has been added since the Ludum Dare 48 submission deadline.

Feedback is welcome! I'm considering expanding this project much further, but I'm not clear what form that will take.

dunno if this is a record but it was fun

Thanks! It definitely might be a record, given how often it used to crash.

worked for me, no issues, very chill game :)

Stuck on brown screen when I click run game. I only see borders on top and left so it might be a zoom issue.

Thanks for your feedback! I believe this should be fixed now.

Still the same problem

That's really unfortunate, I'll try and investigate. Thanks for trying again though!

This is fun and I'd like to play further. It froze when I alt tabbed out and back in.  Then I restarted and it froze when the ball hit the last block on stage 1.  The alt tab freeze happened in stage 2 though. FYI my pc is not complete crap.  It's nothing amazing but it plays most games.

Thank you for playing!

You aren't alone, I've also experienced crashes at the end of levels and while alt-tabbing. I believe I know what the issue is and I'll have a new build up soon.
